The site becomes popular, but also generates controversy and is eventually shut down by the university.

The story begins on a fall night in 2003, when Harvard sophomore (played by Jesse Eisenberg) creates a site called Facemash after a bad breakup. The site’s sudden popularity catches the eye of the Winklevoss twins , who recruit Mark for a project called Harvard Connection.
