This paper examines the Polish localization ( spolszczenie ) of the 2010 video game Mafia II , developed by 2K Czech. Unlike many contemporary releases that rely solely on subtitles, Mafia II received a full dubbing treatment for the Polish market. This analysis explores the quality of the translation, the casting choices for voice acting, and the cultural reception of the localization, arguing that the Polish version successfully preserves the game's noir atmosphere through distinct stylistic choices and high production values.
