The film takes place in Tokyo, Japan, and follows the story of Sean Boswell (Lucas Black), a teenager who gets involved in the world of street racing. After a street racing incident in the United States, Sean's father moves him to Tokyo to live with his mother, Neela (Nikki Graham). In Tokyo, Sean befriends Han (Sung Kang), a local street racing enthusiast, and D.K. (Drift King) (Brian Tee), the leader of the local racing scene.
