Fury Road was a masterpiece of streamlined narrative: a chase out, a U-turn, a chase back. Furiosa rejects that model. Structured in five chapters (plus an epilogue), it follows its heroine from childhood abduction to her rise as Imperator. This episodic format allows Miller to explore the wasteland’s political geography—Gas Town, the Bullet Farm, the Citadel—as rival feudal states. But it also risks pacing issues. The middle chapters drag where Fury Road soared. Yet this sprawl is intentional: vengeance, Miller implies, is not a sprint. It is a slow rot.
