These moments—bright, quiet, and seemingly infinite—are the shiny days of our lives. Yet every bright day, by its nature, points toward dusk. The gloss of now and the reality of endings are braided together: joy is heightened by the knowledge that it cannot last forever, and endings are softened by the memory of light.
