Windows Update overwrote the custom driver. Solution: Use the Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc) → Computer Configuration → Administrative Templates → System → Device Installation → "Prevent installation of devices not described by other policy settings." Then blacklist the generic HID driver for your U-706's hardware ID.
