The story is divided into three arcs: Team Heroes (Sonic, Tails, Knuckles), Team Dark (Shadow, Rouge, E-10000B), and Team Babylon (Jet, Wave, Storm). The plot revolves around Dr. Eggman hosting another World Grand Prix to steal the data of the riders. It is largely forgettable fluff, but it serves as a tutorial for the game’s mechanics—which, unfortunately, doubles as the game’s biggest barrier to entry.
