John Constantine is a cynical exorcist and demon hunter who has literally been to Hell and back. He was born with a "gift" he didn't want—the ability to see the half-breed angels and demons that live among humans. After a suicide attempt in his youth, he is searching for salvation to avoid eternal damnation. He teams up with a police detective, Angela Dodson (Rachel Weisz), to investigate the mysterious death of her twin sister, leading them into a war between the forces of Heaven and Hell.
