To counter this rapid progression and maintain challenge, the mod would need to introduce dynamic scaling. More survivors would mean faster resource depletion on a starting island. A single Yucca tree that sustains one player’s water needs for days would be stripped bare by four in a single morning. Food and water consumption would quadruple, forcing the team to establish sustainable farms and water stills much earlier. Furthermore, enemy encounters would require scaling. A single giant crab or a lone shark is a manageable threat for one player; for four, it would be trivial. The mod would need to introduce “alpha” predators with higher health and damage, or simply increase the spawn rates and aggression of standard enemies, turning a routine fishing trip into a coordinated hunt against a pack of tiger sharks.
